Do your parents have social media? If not, consider yourself lucky. If they do, you know all about the "xoxoxo love, Mom" posts on your Facebook pictures. Or the, "You went out of the house wearing that?" that you get on your Instagram, because saying it in real life wasn't enough.
We can bet that T.I.'s daughter sort of feels the same way, because her dad happens to be pretty active on social media. T.I. has Twitter, Instagram and the works. There's no escaping him.
It's probably a little different when your dad is an award-winning famous rap star, though. You sort of expect him to have an Instagram. This is T.I., who on his caption says he "[c]an't even begin to concern myself wit such insignificance." So, there's that.
This is T.I.'s daughter, Deyjah Harris. Wait a minute. Why is her last name Harris? Isn't it supposed to be Deyjah T.I., or something like that? That's how it works, right? We're kidding. T.I.'s real name is Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. Which is sort of not the most rap-like name, so we can see what the change was for.
This is Deyjah's mother, Ms. Niko, who is also a rapper sometimes known as Ranniqua. She is also active on social media, so Deyjah has to watch out on her accounts from both ends. People frequently comment that Deyjah looks like Ms. Niko's mini-me.
So it appears Deyjah got it from her mamma. And her dad, too. At just 16-years-old, she has amassed a following of 490k followers on Instagram. We'll just be over here posting cats with our 217 followers, mkay?
Deyjah recently celebrated her sweet sixteen, and T.I. got a little bit sentimental about it. "My Baby's a Super Sweet 16 now!!!! And Me, along wit all her Uncles, her Big Cousins, her Lil Bros & her Big Bros [h]ave an obligation to protect her & ensure her safety from all hurt harm or danger. Now PLAY WIT IT!!!!" he wrote in his caption. So he's obviously quite protective of his daughter.
So what could Deyjah have posted to make T.I. stop Instagram stalking, and actually comment on her pictures? No, it wasn't this one, but we do think her super cool outfit kind of looks like BB8 from Star Wars. Anyone? Okay, well, we think it's cool.
Nope, this was the picture that caused T.I. to fly into dad mode. Maybe the pink furry jacket was what pushed him over the edge. Or, we can just imagine some dad out there saying, "Hey, isn't that just a little too much shoulder you're showing, sweetie?"
So, we were right. It was just a bit too much shoulder for T.I. to handle. And he's really just giving her some sound advice on how to take a good picture. You really do want to be opening your eyes. Take it from your dad. He is sort of a successful person, after all.
It's probably likely that T.I. was mostly joking. But only mostly. There's a little truth in every joke, they say. He did say he was using his "mama voice." But we know that every dad out there would actually want their little girl to pull their jacket over their shoulders.
When other users saw T.I.'s comment, they loved it. Since his username is "troubleman31," it wasn't obvious right away who it was that was commenting. But once they figured it out, they were all over her post, which is sort of a nightmare for any young person.
"How old is she now? We can't take it when our kids get older. @troubleman31 she is beautiful, you better lock and load all over again," commented one user. Doesn't this just sound exactly like your aunt Carol? Get off our posts, aunt Carol.
People were also commenting that T.I. reminded them of their dads. This is also the guy who sang songs like "Private Show," which is a funny twist of irony. You can check out the lyrics here, if you want. Fatherhood really does change people.
"Man U crack me up... be sounding so old school... remind me of my dad," commented a user. Ouch, no need to call him old. Just because he has a sixteen-year-old daughter who could pass for thirty doesn't mean that he's old.
"[G]et ready pops it's happening. She's so gorgeous but u know this already. Man I hate it for the guys she date ah man lol," said another user. Well, that's that. It's happening. No matter how much T.I. tells his daughter to pull up her pink fuzzy jacket, she's going to grow up.
