Whether your goal is to get across the country or around the world, taking a vacation is on most of our agendas. Going abroad is a goal that many aim to accomplish, and planning a trip across the globe takes some serious preparation.
No matter your choice in luggage or if you sit first class or coach, every traveler has to have one thing on hand to have a successful trip. A passport is a necessary component of any travel out of the U.S. and without one you won't get very far. You don't want to realize you forgot it when you are trying to get through customs!
Want to take your passport to Paris like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in their tweens? This document can get you anywhere you want to go, making it one seriously powerful piece of paper. It comes with its perks, but there is one aspect that turns the pressure up.
There aren't many things worse than taking a government-issued photo with no frills, unattractive lighting, and a straight face. The chances of it coming out desirable are low, yet we can all hope. You really mean to tell me that passport cameras haven't upgraded to using filters yet?!
Have you seen Kim Kardashian's passport photo? Just more proof that money—and cosmetic surgery—can get you pretty much anything you desire. The average person's passport photo looks slightly more realistic, and not nearly as airbrushed.
Do I really look that on a daily basis? Many similar thoughts may run through your head when you see your passport photo for the first time. Although it may not be modeling material it could always be worse, and one woman proved this to us...unfortunately.
Twenty-seven-year-old Chelsey Ramos had to go through the process of receiving her passport so that she could travel to Germany with her boyfriend for his birthday. She has recently gone viral for the result, at no fault of her own. You won't believe what she saw when she looked at her passport for the first time.
Neither Ramos nor her boyfriend Reece Lagunas were ready for what they were about to see. Lagunas admitted that his girlfriend blurted out "Oh my f**king God" before handing it over for him to see. Lagunas' response? Share it with the internet, of course.
Lagunas' post on Reddit, captioned "the State Department nailed my girlfriend's passport" has received over 3,000 comments on the site. The hilarious passport mishap has been circulating the internet, and when you see how the actual passport picture came out you will realize why.
Ramos was shocked to see her cone-head passport—and rightfully so—since the copy of the photo she received came out pretty good. The real culprit of this passport photo disaster? An equipment error at the Costco where she had it taken.
The massive forehead she sported on her passport was a result of a printing error. Although you are required to keep a passport for ten years until getting issued a new one, Ramos was able to get out of keeping this monstrosity as an official government document. There is a silver lining to her unfortunate luck.
"The man that helped her was super helpful," Lagunas admitted when his girlfriend went to replace her passport. "I think he pulled up the photo on his computer and also had a laugh—told her it was obviously their mistake, and provided her with all the info to get it taken care of." ALL IS WELL IN THE WORLD AGAIN.
Luckily, Ramos was able to get a new passport and keep this memento for future laughs. Both Ramos and Lagunas admit that it wasn't "expected for this to get as much traction as it has," but the internet is a place where we don't let things go very easily—especially when it comes to hilariously horrible passport photos.
The 27-year-old has even joined in on the fun at her own expense. She even posted this Photoshopped version to her Facebook, and people can't get enough. A happy ending to this otherwise hilarious situation.
15. Just Another Reason To Dread Government I.D. Photos
"We've all needed something extra to laugh about the last seven months, and this has helped," Lagunas stated. Be wary of getting your next passport photo, you may not be as lucky. Most of us are simply stuck with what we get, no matter how embarrassing it may be.
