This is Natalie Costello of Dublin Ireland. In her normal existence, you might find her looking something like this. However, Costello has been getting most of her attention thanks to her wide variety of other looks. This makeup artist is getting buzz on Instagram because of the remarkable way she can transform herself into a wide range of characters from pop culture. And more specifically, Costello has a particular fondness for becoming characters from Disney.
Here's Costello after she transformed herself into the Evil Queen from Snow White. On the one hand, you want to look at this so you can truly appreciate her attention to detail. On the other hand, you don't want to look too closely, because it seems as if her eyes have the ability to steal your soul.
Costello was previously working as a tattoo artist, but a back injury forced her to give up that career. As a result, she had to look elsewhere to put her artistic abilities to work. So she returned to her prior career in makeup, and got hooked even more.
"I always loved using colour and facepaint so I spent time learning colour theory,” she said. “I do mostly beauty make up but I enjoy more extreme stuff with colour and detail." And when she does the extreme stuff, who better to try it out on than herself?
Why did Costello decide to become Ursula the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid? We're hoping it's not because she aspires to be anything like her. Instead, perhaps she just wanted to be part of her world.
Costello can seemingly turn herself into any character she wants. And, fortunately, she can do it without have to try to kidnap an extraordinarily giant litter of puppies. So this is finally a Cruella who is slightly less evil than usual.
Similarly, Costello also turned herself into half-Jasmine and half Rajah the tiger from Aladdin. And best of all, she didn't even have to find a magic genie in order to make this happen. At least, not that we know of.
Costello also brought to life Jessica Rabbit of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Jessica's most famous line from the movie was, "I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way." But in Costello's case, her drawing is actually quite good.
Costello doesn't just limit herself to animated Disney characters either. Yes, that really is a picture of her, not of Johnny Depp. But if Johnny ever wants to quit the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, she could definitely step in.
And Costello also doesn't just limit herself to just Disney characters. With her makeup skills, she has the ability to become just about any character anyone could possibly think of. Even Edward Scissorhands.
Pennywise is absolutely terrifying in both the book and the movie It. However, it's okay because he doesn't exist in the real world, right? Well, thanks to Natalie Costello, we're no longer quite sure.
Costello said each look usually takes more than six hours to get right. But all that work seems to be worth it, as more people become familiar with her work. "I never thought anyone would ever notice me," she said.
To turn into Tim Curry's character from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Costello had to get every detail perfectly. And unlike doing "The Time Warp," there isn't a handy set of instructions in song form to tell you what to do. Instead, she had to figure it out for herself.
While she seems to specialize in making herself up like villains, Natalie Costello does enjoy being one of the good guys from time to time. Want to see more of her work? Then be sure to check her out on Instagram or Facebook.
