Ben went to town with his PowerPoint. He analyzed all of the logistics for said date and laid out the data in an informative, yet easy to grasp presentation. "I have presented with the task of suggesting venues for a date for Ben (me) and Tom (you)," said the PowerPoint. "The weather is very temperamental this week, as such any venue must be indoors or have an indoor component."
The PowerPoint contained everything you would want in a presentation. Bullet points... Options... Summaries... There was even a picture of Ben Affleck to represent Ben and Tome Scavo to represent his date Tom.
No, Ben isn't a super obsessive creep. And no, Ben isn't a nerdy workaholic who can't not make a PowerPoint. Ben thought it would be funny. “I thought we had a similar sense of humor so I made the presentation when he asked to meet up,” said Ben.
Ben recounts Tom's reaction. “He reacted very weirdly and blocked me on Whatsapp and Tinder within about five minutes of me sending it. I think I scared him off, and I imagine he thought I was being serious. We probably wouldn’t have got on," said Ben.
Tom's reaction begs the question, would you even want to have gone out with someone like that? “I think I dodged a bullet because OBVIOUSLY this is tongue-in-cheek and I don’t want someone who has 0 humour," said Ben on Twitter. Silver lining!
As it turns out, Ben isn't the only one who's asked someone out via PowerPoint. Twitter user @rmcqj came forward with his own story. "Someone asked me out by PowerPoint once - and ended on an entire Walt Witman poem," he Tweeted.
Ben even got other offers for dates. "I would have loved this. My name is Tom, perhaps I could just take his place? It needs to be known that not all Tom's are ungrateful!" said Twitter user @curlytomtom. Looks like Ben's going to be doing just fine!
Ben called the PowerPoint "a waste of my MS Office skills." However, he might not to want to speak so soon. Junkyard Golf, which was mentioned in the PowerPoint, offered Ben free games for life. And that's better than going out with boring old Tom!
