With a movie franchise as beloved as Star Wars, it's hard to pick the most memorable aspect of the series. But few things would rank higher than the movies' lightsaber battles. The very idea of lightsabers is so cool, that there's seemingly no way to make them cooler.
Twitter responded in a big way, with over 129,000 retweets and over 223,000 likes. One person even congratulated him on posting something with that much engagement. (But, unfortunately, this caused him some great confusion for his mother.)
A couple years ago, there was a debate on Reddit about how you spell the lightsaber sound. Some thought it could be "Schvrmmmmmmm," but no definitive answer was reached. So it's entirely possibly that the proper spelling has actually been "wow" this whole time.
Owen Wilson has truly mastered the art of the "Wow." He can say it a different way, giving it a different meaning each time. He sometimes even branches off into a "kachow," because he's just that good.
Here's the original video of the lightsaber fight with the sounds replaced with wows. It was posted on 11/30/2016 by YouTube user Drunken Leprechaun. It even used the exact same clip as the version that was tweeted.
On Twitter, Drunken Leprechaun is grateful that somebody stuck up for his work. Ownership of ideas is often unclear when it comes to the internet. So it's good that some people acknowledged the true creator, even though this bit of info may have gone unseen to most people.
Perhaps Drunken Leprechaun could use this as an opportunity for a new challenge. Instead of replacing the lightsaber sounds with Owen Wilson saying wow, they could be replaced with Rachel from Friends saying wow. Sure, she may not say it as frequently as Wilson, but it would probably be just as entertaining.
