There are a number of reasons why people like watching horror movies. Some psychologists believe that it’s because we enjoy being frightened. Others say that we watch horror films because it allows us to put distance between ourselves and a violent crime. As though, because we are watching it on screen it could never happen to us. But there is one thing everyone has in common when watching a horror movie.
But there is one thing everyone has in common when watching a horror movie. We worry about the characters in the film, especially if they’re the good ones. And almost everyone says, “Don’t go in there” when watching a scary movie.
What’s even better than watching TV … Watching a dog watch TV? If you own/owned a dog, chances are your pooch got excited when a pet food commercial came on. That’s because dogs actually enjoy watching TV. And that’s coming from science … not from me!
According to a study in the Journal of Animal Cognition, dogs perceive television similarly to the way we do. They are able to identify images of dogs and other animals among images of humans and differentiate them. Also, the way dogs respond to the television depends on their personality. This next dog has a pretty big and loud personality … and she absolutely loves watching TV, especially horror movies.
No, not that Khaleesi, but equally as cool. But, she may not be as brave and fearless as the Game of Thrones. That’s because this beautiful bulldog babe gets a little scared when she watches horror flicks with her mom and dad.
Khaleesi recently went viral for this video. In the video, she was sitting at the edge of the bed watching the horror movie The Conjuring. Khaleesi was getting pretty nervous watching as the little girl in the clip got up in bed and thought she saw a ghost.
Khaleesi really starts losing her s**t when the ghost takes the little girl’s sister.
“Khaleesi the bulldog loves watching horror movies and always tries to protect any potential victims from harm! She is especially vocal when children are in danger as seen in this clip,” Khaleesi’s owner wrote.
Khaleesi really impressed people with how she was so sensitive and tuned into the film.
“I assume the amazing part here is the fact that the dog had an idea of where the monster would be without actually being able to physically sense its presence, but through emotion, tension/suspension built up throughout the scene. Good girl,” wrote one commentator.
The Conjuring wasn’t the first horror movie Khaleesi ever saw. Last year, her owner recorded a video of Khaleesi watching Crimson Peak. She reacted exactly the same way … meaning, she was trying to warn the little girl about the big scary ghost.
Khaleesi is actually part of a duo. She’s got a big brother named Elvis. They have a YouTube channel named Elvis and Khaleesi. The two bull dogs are rambunctious and enjoy giving their parents a hard time.
While Khaleesi may bark at the TV more, Elvis is more “vocal.” There are some funny videos of him trying to speak and he is really trying to get some words out. Like really trying … he almost sounds constipated. He also likes to throw tantrums.
They even like to watch TV together. But, Khaleesi sits way to close to the TV. Elvis likes to watch from a safe distance on the couch. They especially love the Budweiser commercial featuring the dogs.
Did you know there is a Dog TV channel just for your pooch? It’s got programming that is designed for your pup and is colored to accommodate your dog’s dichromatic vision. I’m sure Elvis and Khaleesi would get a kick out of it.
