That's because he had to deal with this. On Imgur, an install tech with the handle of Ihearnipple posted a series of pictures. It was titled, "So I was given a job to do. Here is my daily progress." And this was day one.
Ihearnipple didn't specify where he works, but it appears he works for a cable and/or internet service provider. But he did say that, "Every time I removed a jumper a customer goes out of service. Up to 32 people were out of service at a time."
Which were sure annoyed nobody and everyone remained calm.
After four days of untangling cords and putting customers out of service, he had only gotten this far. It only looks like he made a small dent. But he explained, "Progress seemed so slow because it took hours to untangle each splitter."
Here he said, "I used what seemed to be thousands of zip ties to hold everything in place while I untangled the rest." It's starting to at least look a little bit organized. But there's much work still to go.
And finally, after nine hard days, his work was done. "I wasn't 100% satisfied with everything but boss said it was good enough so this is it," he said. "9 days of nothing but untangling fiber." But even if he thinks he could have done more, there's something oddly satisfying about seeing that mess on day one turn into this tidy collection of fiber.
The tangled cables weren't Ihearnipple's first Imgur post about electronics. He also posted this photo, with the caption, "50 bucks says there is a salad somewhere with batteries in it." Although carrots do provide energy, so maybe this could actually work.
