While in school together, Perry and Trudeau actually had a bit of an incident. Perry told Kimmel, “My friend ... who was also in the fifth grade in Canada, reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau.” That's right, Chandler Bing beat up the future leader of Canada.
“We both beat him up,” Perry continued. “I think he was excelling in a sport that we weren't, so it was pure jealousy.” Trudeau's father was also Prime Minister at the time, which could have helped make him a target.
Others felt like Chandler is the wrong friend to go after. A couple people thought Ross would be the better target. For these Twitter users, they're hoping that this just isn't Ross's day, week, month, or even his year.
Of course, Perry himself had to chime in, so he tweeted back that he'd rather not have a rematch. It's too bad, because a Perry-Trudeau match-up would be a pretty big draw. But when you see Perry's reasoning, the logic is flawless.
Perhaps there's a lesson to be learned from Trudeau's light-hearted response to Matthew Perry. Instead of getting defensive about getting beat up, Trudeau used humor. Sounds like something Chandler would do.
So it looks like the Justin Trudeau-Matthew Perry fist fight will never actually happen. But maybe other Friend-world leader battles could be in the works. Will Angela Merkel ever fight against Courtney Cox? Or will Vladimir Putin fight against the guy who played Gunther? Only time will tell.
