When her relationship with Pattinson ended, Stewart she didn’t just hide and wait for it to blow over. She responded by issuing a public apology.
“I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry.”
Since her relationship with Pattinson ended in 2012, she has dated French singer Soko and effects specialist Alicia Cargile. Then out of the blue, she became Hollywood’s most high-profile gay actor. In an interview withThe Guardian, she opened up about what it is like becoming the poster girl for the LGBT community.
“Well, yeah,” she said. “And that’s been nothing but positive. I mean, it’s hard to talk about. I don’t want to seem presumptuous, because everyone has their own experience. The whole issue of sexuality is so grey. I’m just trying to acknowledge that fluidity, that greyness, which has always existed. But maybe only now are we allowed to start talking about it.”
In a recent interview for her most recent Chanel fragrance campaign, Harper's Bazaar U.K. asked if she would ever date men again. Stewart responded,
“Yeah, totally. Definitely … Some people aren't like that. Some people know that they like grilled cheese and they'll eat it every day for the rest of their lives. I want to try everything. If I have a grilled cheese once I'm like, ‘That was cool, what's next?'”
Seriously though, her thoughts on sexuality and relationships are straight to the point, just like her. People can choose whatever they like. Whether they are choosing what they want to eat, or who they want to date. You want grilled cheese? Great! You want a chocolate filled croissant instead? Even better. Okay, now I am really hungry.
When Stewart was questioned about being in love in the interview, her answer was this:
“I've been deeply in love with everyone I've dated. Did you think I was faking it? I've always really embraced a duality. And really, truly, believed in it and never felt confused or struggling. I just didn't like getting made fun of.”
In the same interview, they asked her about her life as a woman in the United States. She responded, "It's obviously terrible what's happening but at the same time, it feels good to be part of a wider female community that is finally standing up for itself. I've never felt such a strong sense of community. So it's brought us together. The catalyst for this is regrettable, obviously, it's shitty. But at the same time I think that you need something to stir things up in order to get people to come together and define their opinions and force them to be heard."
So, once again Kristen Stewart opens up and is honest and isn’t afraid to share her thoughts and feelings with her fans. She never ever tries to be anything that she isn’t and she has given us a new way to look at sexuality. By comparing it to grilled cheese. And now, I’m sure we are all in the mood for a hot, gooey, and crunchy grilled cheese!
