It's the new year, and we promised ourselves we'd get in shape, but it's just so hard to stay motivated. Gyms are so overcrowded and exercise can get boring very quickly if you don't have the right mindset, which is extra depressing when you see how even old people can get themselves to pump iron.
2. Isabel Beltran
Yoga is a popular and healthy way to exercise, but many are scared of it as it's something they don't quite understand and have seen many, many people fail attempting. But recently, Austin-based yoga instructor Isabel Beltran devised a yoga class more magically inviting.
As you can see by the wands in everyone's hands, there's something wizarding about this particular yoga class she taught. On October 30th, 2016, in honor of Halloween and the Day of the Dead, Beltran lead a Harry Potter yoga class, appropriately named "Deathly Hallows Yoga."
Besides just handing out wands to the class, the entire brewery was decorated. So not only could you feel like a wizard, but you could also feel like you were hanging out in some hidden, bootleg era distillery of Hogwarts.
6. Potter Poses
Even the movements were Harry Potter-inspired. Students took part in performing Slytherin cobra poses, Downward Fluffy, and Reverse Wizards, pictured here.
Beltran also dressed up, and encouraged all the students to let loose their inner wizard with their clothing choices. Some did and some didn't, as it is hard to do a black crow (or maybe white owl?) position while dressed like Hagrid.
There was even a potion station, and a Mandrake Garden. These cuts are deeper than Beltran's warrior (Quidditch Seeker?) pose!
11. Even More!
That's still not all! There was also Pumpkin Juice beer provided by Circle Brewing Co. After all, it's called "Pints and Poses." Feel like exercising now? Want to get in on this? Well, I'm afraid I have some slightly disappointing news.
12. Sold Out
The class was a one-time event, and its 34 slots filled up almost immediately. But fear not, wizards and witches, you might not need a Time Turner to get in on the fun...
13. More Harry Potter Yoga, Please
Ximena Larkin says they plan on doing more Harry Potter Yoga in the future, so check Beltran and Circle Brewing Co.'s sites for announcements when the next classes will take place. And be sure to reserve a spot quickly, otherwise you'll need an Invisibility Cloak to sneak in.
