The Vacaville, California department of water and power made great strides in diversity last Tuesday when they hired a mountain lion to perform routine maintenance on one of the city's many utility poles. Mountain lions make up less then 1% of our nation's work force and we hope that this opens the door for large feral cats to participate in more government jobs.
The large mountain lion's first day at the office went by without a hitch, though he (she?) was harassed by several birds in the process. The birds, who were also on government payroll were reported to HR and received a "warning" and a penalty from their monthly seed bonus.
What's next? A mountain lion stamping your passport at the DMV? We can only hope.
Real story here.
