It’s a common stereotype that brides purposefully pick the worst possible dresses for their bridesmaids, as to not be upstaged by them, and as you're about to see, the following are of no exception!
There are two possible reasons as to why these particular bridesmaids look so thoroughly confused in the photo: a.) They don't understand why the bride made them look so ridiculous, or b.) They actually just stepped out of a DeLorean from 1985.
Here we have a prime example of a clever bride who took "operation-make-the-bridesmaids-look-ridiculous" pretty seriously.
The expression on the bride's face says it all: These fools! My evil plan worked! They all believed me when I told them that clashing floral patterns and colors would actually look good together, and now I look the best! Muahaha!
This photo brings up several pressing questions: Is the girl in front the bride...? Why is she making that cringy duckface? And most importantly, do they know that the Converse-with-fancy-dresses trend went out of style in 2005?
These dresses are a fascinating mix of ballet-skirt-meets-lingerie, which is further evidenced by the pastel-pink-and-white combination. They would've been great for the bachelorette party, but day of the wedding? Not so much.
Luckily the bridesmaids had an idea: they would use disguises in the wedding photos so no one would recognize them! Only kidding (we hope...).
Here is another photo that leaves us with more questions than answers: a.) Which season is it? b.) Can duckface please just not be a thing anymore? c.) Is this wedding being held in New Jersey? (Just kidding, we already know the answer to that.)
We get that maybe the bride's thought was that black and white would make for a nice contrast for the wedding colors, which it totally does! The only drawback here is that black tends to be reserved for, ya know, funerals.
It doesn’t help that each one of these dresses is a slightly different shade of blue, so they don’t quite all match, but the worst part by far is that they are just a little too reminiscent of that bad sparkly prom dress you begged your mom to buy you in high school.
Let's just get this out of the way first: we're really glad that whichever decade this photo is from is now long over. But hey, there’s gotta be something said for matching your bridesmaids dresses to the drapes exactly.
This one really doesn’t need any comment, but we’d really like to know who sat down and determined that light pink and yellow-green would look good together. And more importantly, why no one put a stop to it. Just...why....
While Kermit the Frog would certainly approve, all of those shades of green are just different enough that it’s a little too distracting for comfort. Yet another example that would suggest that the bride perhaps knew exactly what she was doing, given how stunning she looks.
And please, for the love of God, can frills just permanently go away?
To be perfectly fair, the bride in this photo arguably looks just as silly as her bridesmaids. And while the bridesmaids do have some cool hairstyles going on, ultimately we're really just not sure what the theme of this wedding is supposed to be.
And lastly, this bride really took “operation-make-the-bridesmaids-look-ridiculous” very seriously! We have here another hot-pink rendition, this time with grandiose hairpieces and poofy sleeves that would make '80s Barbie seriously jealous.
