You're waay too excited to go out! Like, too excited. Like so much that your friends keep on calling you "extra" and are threatening to just leave you at home. Tone it down. The evening has just begun!
You're as free as the 4th of July! You can go anywhere, do anything and you don't have to check in! Except someone needs to remind you to text your bae at 9:23 when you get to your second location otherwise they'll worry. And who wants that, right?
There's going to be a time when someone dances too close for comfort. Normally, it's unwelcome. But when you're in a relationship, it's double unwelcome. You wish that your significant other could be there to act like your own personal bodyguard! And then you could recreate the scene from The Bodyguard where he carries her and you sing "I Will Always Love You" at the top of your lungs.
Eventually you'll hit that moment where you just cut loose! You don't feel bad that someone who loves you is waiting at home while you live it up! It's not your fault! Why is that loser still at home anyways? They're missing out!
Going out is where people meet other people. So of course, you're going to meet people as well, regardless of your relationship status. And wow, that person in the blue is really cute and oh boy, would you like to go home with them. Damn!
8. My Friends Are So Lucky Because They Can Meet People!
As much as you love your bae, you can't help but wonder how different the evening would be without them. In theory. It's closer to something Stephen Hawking would posit, like a parallel universe. In this parallel universe you're single. But also people have a third arm in the middle of their stomachs for some reason?
To text or not to text? That is the question. Of course, all of your friends are screaming the answer at you. "Don't. Stop. Put the phone down. You're supposed to be out with us!" If only Hamlet had friends as good as yours!
Maybe bae isn't texting you back because they're out having a good time too? You guys are going to run into each other at the same club, and it's going to be a scene from a sitcom right there on the dance floor. Three's Company has nothing on what's about to go down in the club tonight!
At the end of the night, you just want to go home and cuddle. And you can! Because there's someone there waiting for you. You can go out, then go home and feel fulfilled. It's like having your cake and eating it too, but less messy.
